I find it kinda boring. I think its best described as a lead up book. It moves the story forward, but that's about it.

i thought it was pretty good, it had way more information than the movie of course, but not all of it was needed either. I liked when they found the trolls that had been turned to stone in the hobbit. My overall thing about the books is that i like the way it gives more information about the rangers, dunadain, etc...

I love it... It's very... Hobbity... :lol: I love all the parts with Hobbits... Pippin and Merry aren't as insane as they are in the movies... But they're still great in the books. :)

pipin is amazing... very funny i wish they had left the barrow downs and tom bombadill in the movie.

I agree. They should have had tom bombadill in the movie. But other then fun story, he really doesn't serve a purpose.

Yeah, Bombadill in the movies would have probably added, AT LEAST another 20 minutes. If not a half hour... But he was pretty cool... ^^


Pippin is amazing, he is just one of the greatest hobbits of all time... :lol:

it doesn't explain merry, pippin, and sam's swords though! otherwise merry wouldn't have been able to do anything to Angmar
